The MGM Grand Detroit poker room is home to 14 tables. It is located on the first floor of the casino. MGM Grand Detroit only deals cash games. It does not offer any tournaments. The MGM Grand Detroit poker room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is the only Detroit poker room.

MGM Grand Detroit poker cash games

Many different types of cash games are available at the MGM Grand Detroit poker room. The main options are 1/3 no-limit hold’em, 2/5 no-limit hold’em, and 3/3 pot limit Omaha.

There are several special game days each week. At 10am on Tuesdays, there is a 3/6 limit hold’em game with a full-kill. At 11am on Tuesdays, there is a 15/30 half limit hold’em half limit Omaha hi/lo with a full kill.

On Thursdays, the game is 3/6 limit hold’em, full kill. That starts at 11am. Friday at 4pm sees a 25/50/100 pot limit Omaha game. At 6pm on Fridays, there is a 10/25 no-limit hold’em game. At 6:30pm on Fridays, there is a 5/10 no-limit hold’em game. Saturday at noon is a 15/30, 1/3 kill, limit Omaha, and limit hold’em game. On Sundays at 11am, there is a 4/8 fixed limit hold’em game with a half-kill.

MGM Grand Detroit poker promotions

Players clocked in at a cash game with an MGM Rewards card receive up to $2 an hour in comps, depending on the type of game. The bad beat jackpot is no longer available at the MGM Grand Detroit poker room.

There are daily high hand promotions or splash pots. The prizes tend to be $500. The frequency may be from every 20 minutes to once per hour. Hours for this promotion generally start at noon during the week and 11am on weekends.

A $120,000 freeroll tournament will run in 2025. Players with 175 cash game hours between November 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025, receive an entry. All entries are guaranteed a cash prize. First place wins $25,000.
