How to get a Boyd Rewards card

There are two ways to get a Boyd Rewards card. The easiest is to go to the players center at a Boyd Gaming casino. All you need is a valid photo ID. A Boyd Rewards account may also be made on a mobile device through the Boyd Rewards app or on a computer at rewards.boydgaming.com.

Boyd Rewards tiers and perks

There are five tiers in the Boyd Rewards players club. Ruby is the base level. Points are not earned at this level. The tiers are annual. However, some tier points may be rolled over into the next year. Each tier has all of the benefits of the ones below it. Ruby members receive a 10% gift shop discount.

Sapphire – 750 tier points

Sapphire Boyd Rewards players earn points when playing slots, video poker, and keno. These points may be converted into free play and food comps. Sapphire members receive a 15% discount at the gift shop.

Emerald – 15,000 tier points

Emerald is the third Boyd Rewards tier. These players receive a quarterly hotel offer and qualify for a free cruise. It also has VIP lounge access, line passes, VIP parking and a 20% gift shop discount.

Onyx – 50,000 tier points

Onyx is the fourth tier in the climb to the top of the Boyd Rewards players club. These players receive an annual gift.

Titanium – 200,000 tier points

Titanium is the top tier of the Boyd Rewards players club. These players are awarded an annual gift package.

How to use a Boyd Rewards card

Once you have a Boyd Rewards players card, you can use it at every game on the casino floor. At slots, video poker, keno and electronic table games, place the card in the slot. It is usually by the bill acceptor. On upright machines, it may be above the screen. The card acceptor will usually change colors so you know it worked. It will show your name and Boyd Rewards points on the screen.

How to earn Boyd Rewards points

Players do not earn any Boyd Rewards points until reaching the Sapphire level. This requires 750 tier points. Slot and keno players receive one tier point for every $5 wagered. Video poker and table game players receive points based on the theoretical hold of the game.

Once a player reaches the Sapphire tier, points are earned at a rate of one for every $1 in slot play and $2 at video poker. Table games are rated separately.

How to redeem Boyd Rewards points

Boyd Rewards points may be redeemed in one of three ways. For free slot play, restaurants, and retail, the rate is 1,000 points per dollar. That makes the slot earn rate 0.1% and video poker 0.05%. Boyd Rewards used to give a discount when using slot points. The rate was 600 per $1, as opposed to 1000 per $1. That ended on December 31, 2022.
