657 Main Street, Deadwood, SD | 800-952-9398 | Saloon No. 10 Casino
The Old-Style Saloon No. 10 is the place where Wild Bill Hickok was shot. While Saloon No. 10 has since moved, they still have the chair that Wild Bill was sitting in at the old location. Saloon No. 10 is as authentic as a saloon gets from the Gold Rush era. The floors are wooden and there is sawdust on the floor.

Saloon No. 10 casino
Before the South Dakota smoking ban passed, Saloon No. 10 dealers would smoke openly at the poker desk, behind the bar, and behind the table games. The attitude was just as it was over 100 years ago; if you don’t like it, leave! The dealers all have fun working there and have their own unique personality that fits Saloon No. 10 perfectly. Saloon No. 10 is a must-visit for any Deadwood trip. Families are even invited before 8pm. The later in the night it gets, the rowdier it gets. This is especially true on weekends.
Table games
There are four table games at Saloon No. 10. There are two six-deck blackjack games, one Three Card Poker game, and one single deck blackjack game.
The single deck blackjack game is the only one of its kind in Deadwood that pays 3-2 on a natural. The rules there are double on 10 and 11 only, no double after the split, split up to three hands and the dealer hits a soft 17. Blackjack pays the standard 3-2, not the 6-5 garbage that most Las Vegas single deck games pay.
The six-deck blackjack rules are double anything, double after split, split up to four hands and the dealer hits soft 17. Blackjack pays 3:2.
The blackjack games have $5 to $25 limits. Three Card Poker is spread from $2 to $25.
Saloon No. 10 poker room
Saloon No. 10 is the only poker room in town that regularly spreads games that are not Texas Hold’em and Omaha High/Low. In addition to the standard 2-10 spread limit Texas Hold’em game there is 2-10 Seven Card Stud High/Low on Tuesdays.
A dealer’s choice game is spread on Thursdays. The games allowed are Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Hi/Lo, Razz, Super 8, and Crazy Pineapple. This game is spread in a 2-10 format. Blinds are used for all games. The player with the button picks the game.
Super 8 is like three-card Texas Hold’em. It may be played high or hi/lo.
The rake is 10% up to $5. Saloon #10 was the last Deadwood poker room to raise rake to $5. It did that in 2015. There is also a $1 jackpot drop.
Poker promotions
Saloon No. 10 has some unique poker promotions. In addition to their bad beat jackpot, where Aces full of Ten’s must lose, they also offer a couple of top hand bonuses. If a player makes quad tens they will receive 10% of the jackpot if they made the hand with pocket tens, 5% if three tens appeared on the board. If a player makes the Deadman’s Hand, they get 25% of the bad beat jackpot.
The Deadman’s Hand is the hand that Wild Bill Hickok held when he was killed. While no one is sure of the exact hand, many have accepted that it is two black aces, two black eights, and the nine of diamonds. Players also receive $2 an hour in comps that can be used on food, drinks, or merchandise.

Saloon #10 offers poker tournaments at 10:30am on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a $6 buy-in with a $3 dealer bonus chip. There are unlimited $10 rebuys.
