Update 6/18/24: Live table games are now open at Catawba Two Kings.
Catawba Two Kings, a casino near Charlotte, North Carolina, will add live table games to its selection of slots and electronic table games. A casino representative confirmed that live tables like baccarat, blackjack, craps, and roulette, will be available to guests in the second quarter of 2024. A poker room is also planned. The exact date depends on when the North Carolina casino fills jobs like dealers and supervisors. The Director of Table Games position appears to be filled.

US Casino Advantage first discovered the news through online job postings. Sites like Indeed and SimplyHired show listings for table game dealers with starting hourly rates of $8 to $10 an hour plus tips. Table game supervisor jobs advertise hourly rates of $25 to $28 an hour.
“Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, and baccarat; and all of the Carnival Games,” will be offered to Catawba Two Kings players, according to job postings. Carnival games likely mean poker pit ones like Crazy 4 Poker, Let It Ride, Mississippi Stud, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The exact mix of so-called carnival games Catawba Two Kings will deal is unknown at this time.
The Catawba Two Kings casino opened on July 1, 2021. It is in a temporary facility that hosts 1000 slot machines, including about 50 electronic table game terminals. There are sportsbook kiosks on the casino floor. Disputes with the developer caused delays that have plagued the construction of permanent buildings, including a hotel.
Two NC casinos already deal live table games
Catawba Two Kings is one of three North Carolina casinos. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians owns the other two. Caesars Entertainment operates both casinos under the Harrah’s brand. Harrah’s Cherokee is a massive gaming resort about an hour west of Asheville. It recently opened a smoking slots room after being nonsmoking for nearly four years. Harrah’s Cherokee offers some of the best $5 video poker in the world. A WSOP poker room is on the property.
Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River is just east of Murphy, about an hour west of Cherokee. A $275 million construction project will add more casino floor space, including a poker room. The expansion also includes a parking deck and almost 300 new hotel rooms.
Harrah’s Cherokee and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River deal table games like baccarat, blackjack, crapless craps, craps, Crazy 4 Poker, Mississippi Stud, roulette, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Both have Roll to Win Craps and other electronic table games, as well as slots and video poker. The Nantahala National Forest separates the two properties. The Caesars Rewards players card is used at these casinos.

NC online sportsbooks coming soon
In the coming months, NC online sports betting will launch. Retail sportsbooks are already live at both Harrah’s Cherokee casinos and Catawba Two Kings. The Harrah’s properties have Caesars Sportsbooks. Catawba Two Kings offers IGT sports betting kiosks. Bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, Fanatics, FanDuel, and Underdog Sports are expected to go live on opening day. The date for legal North Carolina online sports betting is not yet set.
