Triple Crown Casinos: McGills, Midnight Rose and The Brass Ass

Triple Crown Casinos is made up of three adjacent casinos: McGills (232 East Bennett Ave), Midnight Rose (256 East Bennett Ave) and The Brass Ass (264 East Bennett Ave). Guests can move between each casino without going outside. However, the walkway between Midnight Rose and McGills is on an upper level. These properties combine for about 900 slot and video poker machines and nine table games. Table games are located inside Brass Ass. Midnight Rose has a poker room that is open four days a week.

Hotels are located above McGills and Midnight Rose. There are three restaurants across the properties. Minors are not permitted on the property, including the restaurants and hotels. We last visited Cripple Creek in August 2024.

Triple Crown Casinos

McGills, Midnight Rose, and The Brass Ass operate as one casino. All table games are on the Brass Ass side of the casino. Most tables at Brass Ass are blackjack. These games use six decks. and pay 3/2. Blackjack tables are open 24 hours a day.

The other table games are Double Up Blackjack, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, baccarat, craps, and double zero roulette. Craps odds are ten times. The field pays double on 12. Baccarat is available Friday through Sunday beginning at 5pm. Craps opens at 11am Sunday through Tuesday, 10:30am Wednesday and Thursday, and 8:30am Friday and Saturday. Roulette is available daily at 8:30am.

We saw two types of electronic table games, both in Brass Ass. Both are multiplayer machines. Video blackjack has a $2 minimum while Ministar 00 roulette has a dollar minimum.

The video poker at Triple Crown Casinos is all over the place in terms of pay tables. In addition to single hand video poker games, players will find three, five, and ten-play, Super Times Pay, Spin Poker, Triple Spin Poker, and Ultimate X. Denominations for these games are nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar, and dollar. The pay tables drop a level at nickel and dime. They go up a notch at quarter and half-dollar and another step up occurs at one dollar. 

The best bank of single line video poker is upstairs at Midnight Rose. The good games include 8/5 Bonus Poker, 9/7/5 Double Bonus, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, and 15/9 Deuces Wild. These games are available in quarter, half-dollar, and dollar.

Midnight Rose poker room

There are six poker tables at Midnight Rose. It is the only Cripple Creek poker room. All other Colorado poker rooms are in Black Hawk. The Midnight Rose poker room deals no limit hold’em cash games. On weekends a fixed limit Omaha hi/lo game may be spread. There are no tournaments. It opens at 10am Thursday through Sunday. There is an adjacent sports lounge with multiple TVs.

BetRivers is the sportsbook company that operates at McGills. BetMGM Sportsbook is a mobile app also licensed through Triple Crown Casinos. We did not find any kiosks on the property. All bets must be made on mobile devices.

Triple Crown Casinos players club

Triple Crown Casinos uses the Triple Play card for its loyalty program. There are four tiers that are renewed every six months. Earning periods are January through June and July through December.

  • Purple: up to 19,999 pts
  • Gold: 20,000 to 59,999 pts
  • Platinum: 60,000 to 149,999 pts
  • Triple Diamond: 150,000 and higher

Slot players earn one point for every $2 in coin-in on reel machines. It takes $4 in coin-in for one point on video poker. However, some slot and video poker machines are marked with a lower earning rate. Table game points vary based on the type of game, average bet, and total time played. Poker players earn $1 in comps for every hour of play. Rewards include gift shop discounts, dining offers, and discounted hotel rates.

Dining and drinks at Triple Crown Casinos

There are three restaurants located within McGills, Midnight Rose and The Brass Ass. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to dine. Multiple bars are located throughout the three properties.

The Miner’s Pick is located on the lower level of the Brass Ass Casino. Menu items here include snacks, pizza, calzones, sandwiches, salads, coffee, and tea. A small seating area is available. The Miner’s Pick is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Located on the second floor of the Midnight Rose, Dynamite Dick’s is a casual restaurant. Served until 11am, its breakfast features pancakes, omelets and eggs, breakfast burritos, and biscuits and gravy. Lunch and dinner menu items include sandwiches, grilled ribeye, chicken fried steak, and blackened salmon. 

Pint & Platter is located on the main level of McGills Casino. The Irish pub serves fish and chips, a corned beef Rueben sandwich, chicken wings, Philly cheesesteak, and draft beers.
