Golden Nugget is one of the largest casinos in Cripple Creek, Colorado. It is the first casino guests see when entering the city. The other Cripple Creek casinos are within a ten-minute walking distance. Golden Nugget was previously known as Wildwood Casino.
Golden Nugget Cripple Creek is home to over 500 slot and video poker machines. There are a dozen table games. The selection of video poker and slots is one of the largest in town. It also has a hotel, video poker bar, sports bar with betting kiosks, and restaurants.

Golden Nugget Casino
Golden Nugget Casino offers 12 live table games. The four six-deck blackjack tables start at $10. These games pay 3:2, hit soft 17, and allow double down after splitting and re-split aces once. Double Up Blackjack also has a $10 minimum bet.
Other table games available include baccarat, craps, Mississippi Stud, double zero roulette, Three Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The craps offers 10x odds and pays double on a field 12. During our October 2021 visit, we found these games for a $10 minimum, except craps which was available for $5.
There are two electronic table games. Heads up craps was available for a $1 minimum. Video double zero roulette starts at $0.50. Both games have a $100 maximum.
Golden Nugget video poker
There is a good variety of video poker. An area near the sports bar has a variety of games like three, five, and ten-play, Ultimate X, Super Times Pay, Extra Deal, and Deal Draw. The denominations start at nickel and include quarter, half-dollar, dollar, and two-dollar. The half-dollar and higher games tend to have better pay tables.
The best video poker game we found at Golden Nugget Casino is 15/9 Deuces Wild at quarter and dollar at the bars. There are some 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker with a five-way quarter progressive.
There are some single line video poker games between the table games and the parking lot. One bank has nickel and quarter games. Another adds a dollar denomination. In general, the returns at nickel are the lowest paytable, quarter an average one, and improves at dollar. The best game on these machines that we found is $1 7/5 Bonus Poker.

Sports betting kiosks are located inside Woody’s Sports Bar & Grill. Guests can watch games on the TVs in the sports bar while enjoying a drink or bite to eat.

Dining at Golden Nugget
Saltgrass opened in summer 2023. 9593 Coffee serves Starbucks coffee, sub sandwiches, hot dogs, combos, and snacks. Woody’s Sports Bar & Grill serves pizza, wings, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and hotdogs. This sportsbook restaurant has a TV wall and kiosk betting.
Joe’s Diner serves breakfast all day. Items include breakfast skillets, steak and eggs, chicken fried steak, breakfast burritos, and pancakes. Lunch and dinner items are also available starting at 11am daily. The menu features burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, chicken entrees, and steak.

Opened in July 2021, the hotel at Golden Nugget Casino has over 100 guest rooms and suites. The spacious lobby area features a fireplace. All guest rooms include blackout shades, a coffee maker, an iron/ironing board, a refrigerator, and a safe. Standard rooms feature either a single king, one queen bed, or two double beds.
Suites feature a king bed, fireplace, and a living area with a sleeper sofa, wet bar, and TV. Bathrooms feature a soaking tub, shower, and dual vanity. Hospitality suites include a minibar and also serve as meeting venues.
Gold King Mountain Inn
The Gold King Mountain Inn is a partner hotel for Golden Nugget. A free shuttle takes guests to and from the casino. All 67 non-smoking rooms at Gold King Inn include a sitting area, microwave, and refrigerator. Roll-away beds and cribs are available for no additional charge. Hotel amenities include a heated parking garage, fitness center, swimming pool, and hot tub.
The Gold King Mountain Inn offers rooms with two queen beds or a single king bed. The two queen room is available as a standard room, an ADA-accessible room with a recliner, or a pet-friendly room. Three types of king rooms are available. The King Deluxe room includes a sofa and the Gold Room features an in-room jacuzzi tub. Suites are available with two queen beds as the Cripple Creek Suite or with a single king bed as the Colorado Suite.
