Colorado sports betting became legal on May 1, 2020. This occurred while tribal casinos and those located in Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek were closed due to the pandemic. Online sports betting on computers and mobile devices went live at that time in Colorado. There were few sports to bet on at the time. Casinos started to reopen in June. Casinos began debuting retail sportsbooks. Some consist solely of a betting window or kiosks. Others constructed sports betting lounges. More are under development.
