101 MGM National Ave, Oxon Hill, MD | 844-646-6847 | MGM National Harbor
MGM National Harbor is a massive casino in Maryland just east of Washington, DC. We spent an entire day at the property, where we met a friend and had lunch, played slots, and then some blackjack. Much of this was in the high-limit salon.
There are about 120 table games and 3,300 slots at MGM National Harbor, a sportsbook, and a poker room. The venue also has a massive convention center with rooms dedicated to other MGM Resorts properties, including Aria and Bellagio.

MGM National Harbor Casino
Most common table games are dealt at MGM National Harbor. This includes blackjack, craps, double zero roulette, triple zero roulette, Pontoon, Casino War, Three Card Poker, Four Card Poker, baccarat, pai gow poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The limits were $10 for most table games earlier in the day. This went to $15 and $25 as busy evening hours arrived. The 6:5 blackjack tables started at $15. Craps was $50 at night. Baccarat and pai gow went up to $100.
It took $25 to get a 3:2 blackjack game at MGM National Harbor. These tables had continuous-shuffle machines. It took at least $50 to get a six-deck-shoe game. These tables hit on soft 17, and allow surrendering and re-splitting aces. The minimum blackjack bet in the high-limit salon was $200. These tables have the same rules, except they stand on all 17’s.
Baccarat was also dealt in the salon. It started at $100, though most tables started at $200 to $500.
There are some electronic double zero roulette machines. These start at $1.

MGM National Harbor video poker
The video poker at MGM National Harbor is better than I was expecting. Most of it is upstairs.
We found 9/6 Double Double Bonus at $1 and $2 3/5/10-play machines. Single-line 9/5 Double Double Bonus starts at the quarter denomination. The typical menu of video poker games is available at quarter, dollar, and two-dollar denominations. This includes the Bonus Poker family, Deuces Wild, and Joker Poker.
There are some $1-and-up 99% games upstairs. The titles include 15/9 Deuces Wild, 9/7/5 Double Bonus, 9/6 Double Double Bonus, and 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe. The denominations are $1, $2, and $5.
There were a few banks of video poker variants. The common games were 100-play, Super Times Pay, and Powerhouse Poker. The typical denominations are nickel, dime, and quarter.
There were few video poker machines at MGM National Harbor’s high-limit area, however. The best game there that I found was $5, $10, $25, and $50 9/5 Double Double Bonus. The $1 and $2 Ultimate X machine also has that pay table.

MGM National Harbor poker room
There are 37 tables at the MGM National Harbor poker room. It is open 24 hours a day.
The main cash games at MGM National Harbor are 1/3 no-limit Texas hold’em with a $100 to $500 buy-in, 1/2 five-card Omaha with a $200 to $700 buy-in, and 2/5 no-limit hold’em with a $300 to $1,000 buy-in. There may also be mixed games and 4/8 limit hold’em, depending on player traffic.
There are daily poker tournaments at MGM National Harbor. The game is no-limit Texas hold’em.
