The 54% tax rate on video poker makes quality pay tables tough to find in Pennsylvania casinos. We took a trip earlier in 2021 to all casinos in Pennsylvania. This article covers the best video poker at each.

Mount Airy wins our Best Video Poker in Pennsylvania award

The video poker at Mount Airy Resort is in another world compared to most other Pennsylvania casinos. The $2, $5 and $10 games have 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54%), 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%), 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker (98.98%), and 15/9 Deuces Wild (98.91%). 

There are machines with 3/5/10 Play $1 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker, 15/9 Deuces Wild and 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe (98.49%). Other video poker variants offered by Mount Airy are Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Spin Poker, Triple Spin Poker, Ultimate X, Ultimate X Spin Poker, Deal Draw, Extra Draw, Pick’em Poker, Super Triple Draw, Super Six Card Draw and Hot Roll. 

The standard denominations for these variants are nickel, dime and quarter. Some go up to $1. 

Harrah’s Philadelphia video poker

The best video poker that I found at Harrah’s Philadelphia is 7/5 Bonus Poker (98.28%) on Quick Quads. The game is available at quarter and higher denominations. The high limit room has $5 9/6/5 Double Bonus Poker (97.81%) and 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker (97.87%). The video poker section has $1 and $2 8/6 Jacks or Better (98.39%).

There is a good variety of video poker variants at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The options include Ultimate X, Quick Quads, Super Times Pay and Spin Poker. Denominations typically start at nickel and go up to $1. 

Hollywood Casino at the Meadows video poker

I did not find any notable video poker pay tables at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows. Video poker variants include 3/5/10 Play, 100 Play, Super Times Pay, Quick Quads, Ultimate X and Spin Poker. The typical denominations go from nickel up to $1. 

Hollywood Casino at Penn National video poker

My top pick for Hollywood Casino at Penn National is 7/5 Bonus Poker. It is available in the $1, $2 and $5 denominations. These machines, located in the high limit slot room, also have 9/6/5 Double Bonus Poker and 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker. The Game King video poker machines on the casino floor offer these pay tables at the $1 denomination. 

Video poker variants are plentiful at Hollywood Casino at Penn National. The options include Hot Roll, Ultimate X, Spin Poker, Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Pick’em Poker and 3/5/10 Play. The typical denominations are nickel, dime and quarter. The pay tables improve at the quarter denomination. 

Lady Luck Nemacolin video poker

I did not find any pay tables worth mentioning at Lady Luck Nemacolin. The standard limits are quarter, half dollar and dollar. Ultimate X is the main variant available at Lady Luck Nemacolin. 

Live! Philadelphia video poker

The best video poker I recorded at Live! Philadelphia is 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker. It is at the $1 denomination. These machines also offer 9/6/5 Double Bonus Poker. 

There are also many variants at Live! Philadelphia. The standard denominations are nickel, dime and quarter. These options are Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Wheel Poker, Ultimate X, Deal Draw, Spin Poker, Triple Spin Poker and Extra Draw Frenzy.

Live! Pittsburgh video poker

The best video poker at Live! Pittsburgh is on the Hot Roll machines. I found 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker, 15/9 Deuces Wild, 8/6 Jacks or Better and 7/5 Bonus Poker on these machines. Hot Roll requires a double bet. Dice are rolled for a multiplier every six hands on average. There is no house edge on the extra bet. It just adds variance. 

Video poker variants at Live! Pittsburgh include Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Wheel Poker, Ultimate X, Deal Draw, Spin Poker, Triple Spin Poker, Extra Draw Frenzy and Hot Roll. 

Mohegan Sun Pocono video poker

I found a bank of great Ultimate X pay tables at Mohegan Sun Pocono. It is on the $1 denomination. The best choices are 10/6 Double Bonus and 9/5 Double Double Bonus. I did not see any single line games that are in the same range. 

Mohegan Sun Pocono video poker variants  The denominations are nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar on most games. There is $1 on a few video poker machines with variants. The choices are Hot Roll, Super Times Pay, Spin Poker, Super Triple Play, Ultimate X and 3/5/10 play.

Parx Casino video poker

The best game that I found at Parx Casino was 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker on $1 Hot Roll. The other pay tables were average or below. The typical denominations for single line games are quarter, half dollar and dollar. There are a few higher limit machines. 

Parx Casino offers a massive video poker variant library. You should find Hot Roll Poker, Split Card, Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Spin Poker, Six Card Super Draw, Super Triple Play, Ultimate X, Ultimate X Spin Poker, 3/5/10 play, Fives Aces, Trade Up Poker and Bonus Hand Triple Play. The standard denominations for variants are nickel, dime and quarter. Some go up to $1. 

Presque Isle video poker

Presque Isle has some good video poker in its high limit room. My top pick is 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker. It is available at $1, $2, $5 and $10 denominations. These machines also have 15/9 Deuces Wild and 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe (98.49%). 

Spin Poker, Super Times Pay and Ultimate X are the video poker variants that I found at Presque Isle Casino. These games started at nickel and go up to $5. 

Rivers Philadelphia video poker

The best video poker at Rivers Philadelphia during my visit was 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker at $1, $2 and $5. The same machines have 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe and 8/6 Jacks or Better. 

Video poker variant options include Powerhouse Poker, Dice Fever, Hot Roll, Ultimate X, Spin Poker, Triple Spin Poker, Extra Draw, Deal Draw and Triple Play. The standard denominations for these games are nickel, dime and quarter.

Rivers Pittsburgh video poker

Hot Roll is my top pick at Rivers Pittsburgh. That game has quarter, half dollar and dollar 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker. You will also find 8/6 Jacks or Better in the high limit room.

The massive collection of video poker variants 3/5/10 play, Spin Poker, Super Times Pay, Double Super Times Pay, Double Pay, Dream Card, Ultimate X, Ultimate X Spin Poker, Powerhouse Poker, Hot Roll and Super Draw 6 Card Poker. Denominations for these games start at nickel and go up to quarter, half dollar or dollar. 

Valley Forge video poker

The best video poker at Valley Forge Casino is at the bar. These machines offer 9/6 Double Double Bonus Poker, 15/9 Deuces Wild and 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe at $1, $2 and $5. Video poker variants start at quarter. The titles I found are 3/5/10 Play, Super Times Pay and Ultimate X. 

Wind Creek video poker

My top pick for video poker at Wind Creek Casino is 9/5 Double Double Bonus Poker. It is available at denominations from $1 to $25. The $25 game is the highest that I found for video poker in Pennsylvania. 

There is a large library of video poker variants at Wind Creek Casino. Options include Hot Roll Ultimate X, Dream Card, Double Pay, Good Times Pay, Quick Quads, Random Rewards, Pick a Pair, Super Times Pay and Double Super Times Pay. The denominations are typically nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar and dollar denominations. 

Hollywood Casino Morgantown video poker

We have not had a chance to visit Hollywood Casino Morgantown as it opened in late 2021. I expect the same pay tables that are found at Hollywood Casino Penn National. However, the video poker selection is likely smaller due to Hollywood Casino Morgantown being a mini casino. 

Hollywood Casino York

The situation at Hollywood Casino York is the same as Morgantown. The property opened in late 2021. We have not visited it. Expect a similar selection to what is offered by Hollywood Casino Penn National.
