Dragon Tiger Casino, formerly Johnny Z’s, is a part of the Grand Z and Z Casino family. The same players club is used at all three properties. There is a shuttle that transports guests between Black Hawk to Central City. 

Dragon Tiger Casino offers a two-story gaming floor. Both floors offer slots and video poker, including bar-top games. The lower level also has electronic table games. There are no live table games at Dragon Tiger Casino.

The casino opens at 8am Monday through Thursday. It closes at 3am Sunday through Wednesday. It is open 24 hours from 8am Thursday through Sunday at 3am. There is one restaurant at Dragon Tiger Casino. There is no hotel.

Dragon Tiger Casino

The lower level is home to mostly newer slot machines, live table games, electronic table games, and bar video poker. There are Casino Wizard machines with four game options. Options include baccarat, craps, and roulette. These are available for a minimum $1 bet. Blackjack is also available. However, it pays 6:5 on blackjack. It has a minimum bet of $3. All games have a $300 maximum.

Since our visit, Dragon Tiger Casino has added an electronic stadium. Game options include baccarat, blackjack, craps, roulette, Sic Bo, and Three Card Poker. It also has $10 six-deck blackjack and baccarat. The pit is open limited hours.

The lower bar has a wide menu of video poker games. The denominations are nickel, quarter, half-dollar, and dollar. Quarter includes a progressive. Available bar top games include Bonus Poker, Double Double Bonus, White Hot Aces, and Deuces Wild Bonus. Our top video poker pick is 9/6 Double Double Bonus. It is offered in half-dollar and dollar denominations. 

The upstairs includes another video poker bar and a few standalone machines. Denominations here are quarter with a progressive jackpot on Double Double Bonus, and half-dollar, dollar, and two-dollar without a progressive. 

Maverick sportsbook

There is not a sportsbook at Dragon Tiger Casino. Kiosks were removed in July 2023. The Play Maverick Sports app went offline in June 2023.

Hotel at Grand Z Casino

Grand Z Casino has hotel rooms a short walk away in Central City. Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Minors may not be on the property. The Grand Z Casino Hotel offers 119 non-smoking rooms with covered self-parking in the parking garage.
