Monarch is the newest casino and hotel in Black Hawk. Over $440 million was spent on the property in 2021. The massive upgrades of this former Riviera property included a new hotel tower, poker room, high-limit slots and tables, a sportsbook, several new restaurants, and a rooftop pool and spa. The entire casino floor was renovated. The hotel is the first feature Black Hawk visitors see when entering the city. This all makes it the most luxurious Colorado casino.

Before Monarch’s massive investment, Ameristar owned the top spot for the most luxurious casino in Colorado. It is built into the mountains, which helps it blend in with the scenery. Ameristar has a quality hotel, several restaurants that include a high-end steakhouse, an ESPN Bet Sportsbook, and a large casino floor that includes a poker room, high-limit slots, and a table game salon. It also has a spa and rooftop pool.

Chamonix is the newest hotel in Cripple Creek. Full House Resorts spent $250 million on a beautiful hotel, a new lounge, and two restaurants. The Bronco Billy’s casino floor was extended with a new table game pit and banks of slots. US Casino Advantage stayed in one of these exceptional hotel rooms. 

While it is the most luxurious property in Cripple Creek, this property would rank higher overall if the Bronco Billy’s side of the casino did not look like it did for decades. That gives the property a split personality.

Golden Nugget is the former Wildwood Casino in Cripple Creek. At 9593 feet, it is the highest casino in the world. It has a new hotel. The newly remodeled casino floor has a variety of table games, a casino bar, and a sports lounge with betting kiosks. The new Saltgrass restaurant is the main dining option. 

Horseshoe was previously Isle Casino. It is connected to Lady Luck. Caesars Entertainment owns both casinos.

Horseshoe has an above-average hotel and casino floor. This includes a high-limit slots room, a table game salon with the best blackjack in Colorado, a World Series of Poker room, and an outdoor smoking gaming area. Several restaurants are available at Horseshoe. Lady Luck has one dining option and a bingo room.

Grand Z is in Central City. It has one of the only two Central City hotels and three dining options. Grand Z is home to a large casino floor that includes a dozen table games and a large sports viewing area with betting kiosks. Grand Z has the best Central City video poker.

Lodge has several dining options. It offers a large selection of table games. The former Superbook has a huge bar with many sports viewing options. The small hotel is in a historic building. 

Triple Crown Casinos consists of Brass Ass, McGills, and Midnight Rose. Each has a restaurant. Two small classic hotels are available. Brass Ass has table games. Midnight Rose offers the only Cripple Creek poker room. It has a nearby sports viewing area.

Century has casinos in Central City and Cripple Creek. Both are about equal in terms of luxury. Each has a classic hotel and table games. Video poker bars are available at both. Dining options with great pricing and specials are offered by both Century Casinos.
